Oktoberfest, or more commonly known as Märzen, was beer brewed in March and then kept in cold storage during the spring and summer months, when it used to be impossible to brew beer. Märzenbier tends to be full-bodied, rich, toasty, typically dark copper in color with a medium to high alcohol content. Oktoberfest beers complement German cuisine.
